1. Who we are
DougsDogHouse ("we," "us," "our") operates the website dougsdoghouse.com. DougsDogHouse is owned by DougsDogHouse Media LLC, a registered company in the United States.
2. Information we collect
We collect the minimum needed to operate the site:
- Calculator inputs. Any data you type into our calculators (weight, age, etc.) is processed in your browser only. We never see or store it on our servers.
- Newsletter email. If you subscribe, we collect your email address through our email provider (Mailchimp). You can unsubscribe with one click.
- Contact form data. Name, email, and message text. Used only to reply to you.
- Anonymous analytics. Page visits, browser type, and country, gathered by Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization. No personally identifying data.
3. How we use your data
To answer your questions, send our newsletter (only if you opted in), improve our content based on which pages are most read, and detect malicious traffic.
4. What we do not do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We do not run targeted advertising on the site.
- We do not use third-party trackers beyond Google Analytics 4.
5. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies for analytics and remembering your unit preference (kg vs lb). You can disable cookies in your browser at any time without breaking the site.
6. Third parties
We rely on a few well-known providers: Google Analytics, Mailchimp (newsletter), Cloudflare (security and CDN), and our hosting provider. Each has its own privacy policy and is GDPR-compliant.
7. Your rights
If you live in the EU, UK, California, or another region with data-protection laws, you can request: a copy of your data, correction of incorrect data, or deletion of your data. Email privacy@dougsdoghouse.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
8. Children
DougsDogHouse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we'll delete it immediately.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. The "effective date" at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in our newsletter.
